Connect diagnostic system, start Xentry and switch on ignition

At least Xentry update 9/2016 and add-on 6617 must be installed for the update. As of update 12/2016, the add-on will be included with the regular release.

Perform initial quick test

The initial quick test is saved until the diagnosis session is ended.

The update procedure is completely menu-assisted under:

Initial startup 
Control unit programming

Delete fault memory in all control units

Run final quick test, printout initial and final quick test and file in a tamperproof manner

There must be no fault codes in the control units being updated. If necessary, process any fault codes in other control units, subject to a separate repair order.
