Partially loosen sealing frame (3) of right front door (4) along the working area

Cover plastic parts of instrument panel (5) and right front door (4) with heat protection (8) in the working area

Replace

Heat up vehicle identification plate (6) uniformly



Do not overheat vehicle identification plate (6).
This prevents damage to paint from overheating.

 In some vehicles, two vehicle identification plates (6) can be glued on top of each other.

Loosen a corner of the vehicle identification plate (6) using a suitable tool

Mark position of old vehicle identification plate (6) (e.g. using vehicle body tape (9))

 Immediately after marking the position, begin the next operation step. Otherwise the working area that was previously heated cools down and it becomes more difficult to remove the old vehicle identification plate (6).

Remove vehicle identification plate (6) at right A-pillar (7) using a suitable tool

 In some vehicles, two vehicle identification plates (6) can be glued on top of each other.

9

Clean bonding area of the vehicle identification plate (6) with silicone remover


The bonding area of the vehicle identification plate (6) must be absolutely free of dust and grease.
Otherwise there may be adhesion problems.

 Do not clean beyond the bonding area of the vehicle identification plate (6).

Replace vehicle identification plate (6) at right A-pillar (7)

 Reattach new vehicle identification plate (6) exactly at marked position.



Install

Remove previously applied marking

Remove heat protection (8)

Secure sealing frame (3) of right front door (4)


Do not use any lubricant.
Otherwise leakage is not possible.

 Ensure that sealing frame (3) is seated correctly.

Install covers (1, 2)
