Triggering of PRE-SAFE® Impulse Side

If "PRE­SAFE®  Impulse Side" has been triggered, only the gas generator in the affected backrest (driver or passenger side) must be replaced.

It is not necessary to replace the air cushion in the backrest because this air cushion is designed for up to 10 deployments.

The total number of deployments can be ascertained by means of a counter in the SRS control unit. Only after the 10th deployment should the air cushion with gas generator be replaced and the counter in the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10) be reset.

Exception

If the sidebag has been triggered, e.g. after an accident, it is always necessary to replace the air cushion with gas generator of the "PRE­SAFE®  Impulse Side".
