As from 05/2013 (model 204.9, 212) or 07/2013 (model 204.0/2) new door shells have been used in production. With these doors, the strips installed at the bottom are not required any more and therefore they may not be installed or retrofitted any more.
The mounting holes for the lower strip have been discontinued on the door shell, and - from a technical point of view - they are no longer required.
Once the old door shells have been used up in the parts department, only the new door shells without mounting holes shall be available for use.
When installing the new door shells in "older" vehicles (up to 04/2013), the previously mounted strip can no longer be installed. This is discontinued without replacement.
The table below lists the new door shells in which the strip can no longer be installed.
