Modification notes

13.9.04

Model 639 supplemented

Modified results display when doing quick tests in STAR DIAGNOSIS as of 04/04.

Events:

An event, as compared to a fault code, does not point to a problem, but rather to a certain condition that has occurred.

Example:

Battery control unit MODEL 211:

Event 9050 consumer shutoff stage 1

This is not a problem with the battery control unit, but rather the voltage of the battery was, for a certain amount time, too low.

The battery control unit then starts to shut down several consumers (e.g. heated seats) to protect the integrity of the on-board electrical system.

Events will be increasingly integrated into STAR DIAGNOSIS over the next few months.

The previous quick test results -v- , -F- and -!- are expanded to include the following functions:

-v- : The control unit does not have any saved faults or events

when an alarm is triggered.

-F- : The control unit has at least one current fault.

-f- : The control unit only has saved faults.

: The control unit has events.

-!- : No communication can be established with the control unit.

New F4 button in the quick test display:

With the F4 button you can now switch between the following displays in the quick test:

Display of all control units (as previously)

Display of control units that have fault codes

Display of control units that have events
