With this document you are receiving an updated overview of all of the control units which can currently be flashed (for details see table).
Effective immediately, the data from the SDflash Release CD will be provided on the DAS DVD.
Placing the data on the same disk will ensure that these data are compatible and prevent the use of outdated data.
Starting with Star Diagnosis DAS Update DVD 01/2005, the data from the SDflash Release CD will be provided on the Star Diagnosis DAS Update DVD.
During the programing of vehicle control units, the Star Diagnosis DAS Update DVD must be inserted into the Star Diagnosis System DVD drive instead of the SDflash Release CD.
Instructions to this effect will be displayed in DAS.

Starting with Star Diagnosis DAS Update DVD 02/2005, the SDflash data will be installed on the hard drive on the Star Diagnosis compact3, Compact II and Station MT II systems.
There is then no need to insert the Star Diagnosis DAS Update DVD when programming vehicle control units.
The DVD drive is then free for using WIS.
Saving the data to the hard drive further ensures that these data are compatible and thus prevent the use of outdated data when programming control units.

Due to the limited hard drive capacity, it is currently not possible to install the SDflash data on the Star Diagnosis basic system. The WIS DVD is not required here.
So the DAS Update DVD should remain in the DVD drive on Star Diagnosis basic systems to ensure that the control unit programming software is always on available on these systems as well.
Instructions to this effect will be displayed in DAS.
The flashware contained on the DAS DVD represents only a basic supply of the required data. Since a timely supply of the newest flashware cannot be guaranteed in the future, and since there will be no redocumentation, this extra supply of flashware will only be made until a universal online supply of flashware to the workshops has been established.
