Model 451.334/380/480 from FIN end number 1K486605 to FIN end number 1K520791:

Despite its greater axial play (compared to the repair bearing), the standard pivot bearing of the starter-alternator is not the reason for tearing of the poly-V belt.

The standard pivot bearing must therefore not be replaced because of axial play. The axial play of the standard pivot bearing is intentional for design reasons.

If a complaint is submitted, the new poly-V belt from Gates with the part number A 002 993 13 96 must be installed and, if necessary, the software update (service measure with accounting number 5498137, code 1204P54A97) must be performed.

Model 451.334/380/480 as of FIN end number 1K520792:

If a complaint is submitted, the poly-V belt from Gates with the part number A 002 993 13 96 must be installed. The standard pivot bearing must not be replaced because of axial play. The vehicles leave the factory with the latest software already installed.

If the regulations specified here are not complied with, we reserve the right to refuse the submitted warranty or goodwill claim.
