The fuel metering pump starts pumping a precisely metered quantity of fuel into the combustion chamber after a preglowing time of approx. 40 seconds.
The fuel forms a mixture capable of combustion in combination with the combustion air which is ignited by the glow plug.
The flame is monitored by the flame sensor.
The maximum permissible temperature is monitored by an overheat switch.
The combustion gases flow through the heat exchanger. The glow plug is switched off.
The heater is now in operation.
The control module regulates the entire operating sequence in the heating mode in combination with the circuit board.
The flame sensor and overheat switch have an effect on the control module for switching off the heater in the event of a malfunction.
