Task

The anti-icing protection temperature switch (A915 s1) measures the temperature in the roof-mounted air conditioning system evaporator (1) and prevents the roof-mounted air conditioning system evaporator (1) from icing up.

Function

The anti-icing protection temperature switch (A915 s1) has two temperature-specific switch positions.

To prevent the roof-mounted air conditioning system evaporator (1) from icing up, the anti-icing protection temperature switch (A915 s1) interrupts the power supply to the expansion valve (A915 y1) at a temperature in the roof-mounted air conditioning system evaporator (1) of approx. -1.0 °C. This then blocks the flow of refrigerant through the roof-mounted air conditioning system evaporator (1).

If the temperature in the roof-mounted air conditioning system evaporator (1) subsequently rises to approx. 2.2 °C, the anti-icing protection temperature switch (A915 s1) restores the power supply to the expansion valve (A915 y1) and the refrigerant is injected into the roof-mounted air conditioning system evaporator (1) again.
