Function requirements

Any telematics service has to be authorized separately. If there is a defect or if authorization is missing, an error message appears in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) and in the display of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).

Self-test

With active circuit 15R, the telecommunications control unit (N112) executes a self-test (approx. 3.5 s). If the test is successful, the system is operational.

Terminating an emergency call

Usually, deactivation is carried out by the emergency call center.

Establishing a telephone connection in the event of an emergency call is aborted after 6 unsuccessful attempts to call by the telecommunications control unit (N112). In other words, there are 3 attempts to call the emergency call center and 3 additional attempts to call the fire department (911).
