Radio reception, function
The FM and AM amplifier (A2/18) receives the frequency-modulated and the amplitude-modulated high frequency (HF) signals, filters the frequencies of the radio frequency bands and amplifies them. Subsequently, all amplified high frequency signals are transmitted via a screened line to the radio receiver in the radio (Sound 20) (A2).
The radio receiver demodulates the HF signals, in other words it separates the useful information (audible frequencies) from the carrier signal (inaudible). The demodulated audio signals are amplified and converted into sound signals by the vehicle speakers.

Different ways of tuning in stations:
Tuning using station preset
Tuning by program type list
Tuning via frequency list
Tuning by station search
Tuning by means of station search on the multifunction steering wheel, with code (JK3) High-end instrument cluster standard with speedometer in km
Tuning by "Autostore" memory
Tuning by "Scan" search (the stations of a waveband are played for t = 8 s)
Manual tuning
Tuning by manual frequency input (via the 12-button control panel of the radio (Sound 20) (A2))
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following functions are also available (they appear on the radio (Sound 20) (A2) display):
Noise reduction
Radio Data System (RDS), function
Selection of RDS stations with good reception
"RDS" function (regional operation)
Apart from radio programs, many radio stations (e.g. in the FM range) broadcast additional, non-audible digital information such as station name, program type (e.g. pop, culture) and traffic program identification. This information is evaluated by the radio (Sound 20) (A2) and shown on the display if the following prerequisites are met:
The "RDS" function is activated
An "RDS" station is tuned
