Audio CDs can be played on the radio (A2) or the CD changer (A2/6). The CD changer (A2/6) has an automatic feed tray for 6 CDs. They are loaded centrally via an input slot. The system is operated using the permanently programmed function keys "CD" and "CDC" on the radio (A2).
The only media that can be used in the CD changer (A2/6) is audio CDs with the appropriate file format.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The control signals of the radio (A2) and audio data of the CD changer (A2/6) are transmitted via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). The radio (A2) is responsible for signal processing and signal amplification The CD changer (A2/6) is activated with the "CDC" on the radio (A2).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After placing an audio CD into the automatically retracting tray of the CD-changer (A2/6), several functions are then available to the user:
Selection of audio CD
Select track
"Search forwards" and "Search backwards"
Current playback time of track or audio CD
Programming function
Title skip
The music tracks are played for 8 seconds. Once the end of the audio CD has been reached, the CD changer (A2/6) automatically changes into the last set mode.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Random function
All the tracks on an audio CD are played according to the random principle. Once all the tracks have been played once, the next audio CD is automatically loaded and the random function continues. The random function will remain active until it is deactivated.
Repeat function
Alternatively one track or all tracks on the audio CD are repeated. All the tracks on all the audio CDs in the CD changer (A2/6) can also be repeated.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Assign a CD title to an audio CD
Each audio CD contains a fixed list of contents. Therefore, once a title has been assigned by the user, the CD is then automatically recognized, even when the audio CD is placed into another CD changer (A2/6).
The table of contents also contains information on the number of tracks on an audio CD and the audio CD's total playing time.
