General function requirements

 Circuit 61 ON

 The circuit 61 ON information is sent by the CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine) or from the ME-SFI [ME] (N3/10) (with gasoline engine) over the engine compartment CAN to the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73). This sends the information to the SAM control unit (N10) over the interior CAN.

Washer nozzle/washer nozzle hose heater, general

The washer nozzle heater and the washer nozzle hose heater prevent the washer fluid from freezing.

Function sequence for washer nozzle/washer nozzle hose heater

The outside temperature is recorded by the instrument cluster (A1) over the outside temperature indicator temperature sensor (B14).

The outside temperature value is sent over the interior CAN to the SAM control unit.

At an outside temperature of T < 5 °C, the left washer nozzle heater (R2/2), the right washer nozzle heater (R2/3) and the washer nozzle hose heater (R2/11) are energized directly by the SAM control unit.

If the outside temperature increases to T > 8 °C, the washer nozzle heater and the washer nozzle hose heater are switched off immediately by SAM control unit.
