The washer nozzle heater and washer nozzle hose heater prevent the washer fluid from freezing in the washer nozzles and in the washer nozzle hose.

Function sequence for washer nozzle/washer nozzle hose heater

The AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) (without code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) or the Comfort AAC control and operating unit (N22/7) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) records the outside temperature via the outside temperature indicator temperature sensor (B14).

This value is transmitted by the operating and control unit to the front SAM control unit (N10) via the interior CAN.

If the outside temperature is T < 5 °C, the

- Center washer nozzle heater (R2/1)

- Left heated windshield washer nozzle (R2/2)

- Right washer nozzle heater (R2/3)

- Washer nozzle hose heater (R2/11)

are switched on by the front SAM control unit.

If the outside temperature increases to T > 8 °C, the washer nozzle heater and the washer nozzle hose heater are switched off immediately by front SAM control unit.
