Function sequence

1 The Lane Assistant button (S148) is a signal switch. This means an electronic circuit is located in the button which reads in the switch operation and converts it into a message. If the upper rocker of the Lane Assistant button (S148) is pressed, the installed electronics transmits the message "Lane Assistant ON" to switch model 4 master via the ASIC data bus (1) (A68).

The red status LED in the Lane Assistant button (S148) is switched on at the same time.

2 The switch module 4 master (A68) receives the message and forwards it over the interior CAN (CAN 2).

3 The base module (GM) receives the message through the interior CAN (CAN 2) (A7) and transmits it to the Lane Assist (SPA) control unit over the vehicle CAN (CAN 1) (A62).

4 The Lane Assistant function is activated as soon as the Lane Assistant (SPA) control unit (A62) receives the "Lane Assistant ON" message.
