Function description

The PTS control module (N62) performs a self-test when the ignition is switched on. This tests the control module, the sensors and the leads to the sensors, the warning displays and the leads to the warning displays. After the self-test, all active warning displays are fully actuated for approx. t = 1 s, i.e. all the LEDs of all the warning displays light up. If the system is in order, the outer LED on each of the active warning displays is actuated at half brightness.

Malfunction

All the red LEDs light up.

If a warning display receives no valid signals within t = 0.5 s of the ignition being switched on, the two red LEDs of the relevant warning display light up and a warning tone (lasting approx.
t = 3 s) is sounded. After t = 20 s the warning display is switched off. During operation the PTS control module (N62) carries out system tests at regular intervals.
