M3/6 Fuel pump with fuel tank sensor

Location

The fuel pump with fuel level sensor (for model 639 (M3/3)) is located in the fuel tank.

Task

The fuel pump with fuel level sensor provides fuel in adequate quantities and at the required pressure to the fuel diesel fuel injection system.

Design

Two-stage flow pump integrated in fuel feed module.

Function

The fuel pump with fuel level sensor suctions the fuel out of the swirl pot and transports it to the fuel filter with integrated fuel pressure regulator. The swirl pot prevents air being sucked in by the fuel pump with fuel level sensor for cornering with a low fuel level. The fuel pump with fuel level sensor is actuated over the fuel pump relay (K40/9k3) (for model 639 (K40/9k6)). The fuel pump relay is actuated by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/23) by means of a ground signal.
