1.01 Air compressor
2.01 Pressure regulating valve
4.03 Four-circuit protection valve
5.01 Compressed air reservoir
6.02 Automatic draining valve
8.02 Check valve
a Supply pressure
b Control pressure
operation:
As the air is compressed by the compressor (1.01), it flows to the pressure regulating valve (2.01) and to the automatic drain valve (6.02) of the humid air tank (5.01).
The pressure regulating valve (2.01), regulates the pneumatic pressure and sends the compressed air to the humid air tank (5.01). After the water condensation, the compressed air will reach the four-circuit protection valve (4.03), which distributes the compressed air to the various pneumatic circuits of the brake system (service braking, parking brake, auxiliary circuits, etc). As well as ensuring minimum pressure in each one of the circuits.
As an addition, on output 23 of the four-circuit protection valve (4.03), a check valve can be found (8.02), which will let the air flow out but will not allow its return, as it will only keep the circuit linked to connector 2 supplied, in case of leakage.
