Brake actuation
When stepping on the brake pedal a hydraulic pressure is created in the system and is evenly distributed on the caliper (1) pressing the piston (7) against the inner pad (5).
The inner pad rests on the disc to overtake the separating slack between the inner pad (5) and the disc (4). Due to the strength of the reaction created at the same time on the caliper, the opposite outer pad (3) is pressed with the same strength by the caliper (1) against the disc.
Brake relief
The piston packings (6) on the caliper body and which involve the piston with previous tension, are laterally deformed during the piston forward movement, due to its elasticity.
Releasing the pedal completely eliminates the hydraulic pressure in the system and the pistons (6) return to the initial position when the packings recover their original shape. This way the expected slack is reached again and the disc (4) can rotate freely.
