Manual transmission 718.190, 718.191 with Vehicle 693

General description

The 9 S 75 gearbox is comprised of a basic gearbox with four forward gears and an additional gear (called “crawler”), as well as the reverse gear. Using a reducer group (planetary) post position (in other words, placed in the rear part of the gearbox) the four gears are multiplied and a total of eight gears is achieved;including the “crawler” gear there are a total of nine forward gears.

This gearbox is different from other models with a planetary group because the second “H” (group from the 5th to the 8th speeds) is pneumatically actuated instead of mechanically actuated by the shift lever, using a button in the shift lever.

A Reverse gear position

B 1st and 5th speeds position

C 2nd and 6th speeds position

D 3rd and 7th speeds position

E 4th and 8th speeds position

F Crawler gear position

The first “H” gears (1st to 4th speeds) are achieved with the shift lever button released, and the second “H”gears (5th to 8th speeds) are achieved with the shift lever button depressed.

The crawler gear is engaged only when the first “H” is actuated; a pneumatic device located in the gearbox gear lever prevents the shift lever from being placed in the reverse gear and crawler when the vehicle is in the second “H”
