Position
The intermediate shaft rotation sensor is installed on the right side of the central part of the gearbox housing.
Function
The intermediate shaft rotation sensor sends a pulsed electrical signal to the gearbox control module, which determines the speed of rotation of the intermediate shaft.
operation
A pulse gear, positioned in the intermediate shaft, changes the magnetic field at the tip of the rotation sensor of the intermediate shaft, thus, its electrical resistance changes. This variation of electrical resistance generates a pulsed electrical signal for the gearbox control module.
Structure
The rotation sensor of the intermediate shaft is a type of Hall sensor, which has a chip of semiconductor material through which a continuous electric current flows.
