ENGINE 646.982 in MODEL 639.711 /713 /811 /813 /815 except CODE (KA1) Particulate filter
Charging allows the engine to provide an appropriate boost pressure in every operating phase and thus to increase the engine output and the engine torque.
In the case of exhaust-gas turbocharging, the flow energy of the exhaust gases is used to drive a turbocharger.
The turbocharger sucks in fresh air at the compressor inlet and leads it pre-compressed over the compressor inlet, the charge air pipe, the charge air cooler and the air intake manifold to the individual cylinders of the engine.
Controlling of the exhaust-gas turbocharging takes place over the boost pressure control.
