Function
During exhaust gas turbocharging the flow energy of the
exhaust gases (C) are used for driving the turbocharger (110).
The turbocharger (110) draws in fresh air at the compressor inlet (A) and passes it as precompressed air through the compressor outlet (B),
the charge air pipe (110/6), the charge air cooler (110/2) and the charge air distribution pipe,
which is integrated in the intake module, to the individual cylinders of the engine.
As a result the engine torque and power output are boosted.
