Location
The throttle valve actuator is located on the top on the combustion engine upstream of the intake manifold in the intake air system.
Task
The throttle flap positioner adjust the throttle valve and detects the throttle flap position by means of an internal potentiometer.
Function
The throttle valve actuator is actuated by the combustion engine control unit via a pulse width modulated signal and regulates the fresh air quantity via the throttle valve. The suctioned in fresh air is mixed with the recycled exhaust via the throttle valve. For "circuit 15 OFF" the throttle is closed.
