Engine electronic control unit
Engine electronic control unit is located behind the fuse box at the center of the dashboard near the co-driver seat.
This monitors the real time values from the sensors and controls the operations of the engine, it is also responsible for activating the limp-home mode. This is having the cylinder synchronizing function which ensures smooth performance of the engine.
The electronic control unit also has a self diagnostic system which constantly monitors most of the electronic control systems and the input circuits.
Tasks of the engine electronic control unit:

1 Engine electronic control unit controls various engine functions like fuel injection, torque reduction and speed control system based on the data received from various sensors.

2 When the problem detected the electronic control unit turns on the electronic control unit MIL lamp to alert the driver, the fault exists in the system. At the same time electronic control unit registers a diagnostic code in its memory. At that time the faulty circuit can be identified by a service technician at a later time to identify the exact reason of failure.

3 Engine electronic control unit stores engine specific data.

4 Engine electronic control unit controls the voltage supply to the oil pressure switch and the boost pressure sensor.

5 Engine electronic control unit takes over all regulatory and control functions of engine control.

6 Detecting the unacceptable oil pressure for the instrument cluster (IC).

7 Engine protection, starter actuation, system diagnosis and engine diagnosis.
