Construction details
Valve train

1 Valve train consists of camshaft operated tappets, push rods, valves, rocker arms, rocker shafts etc.

2 Each cylinder of 4D34i has two inlet and two exhaust valves.

3 A float valve bridge links and actuates both the inlet and exhaust valves together.

4 Each valve has a valve stem seal, which regulates the flow of lubricating oil to the contact surface between the valve and the valve guide.

5 The valve clearance is adjusted using an adjusting screw.
