Bushing in steering knuckle reinforced and procedure for assembling the supporting ball joints changed

The collared bushing (1) for supporting the bottom supporting ball joint (2) in the steering knuckle (3) has been reinforced. In this connection the procedure for assembling the top and bottom supporting ball joint (2) has been changed.

As of VIN 947 vehicles have already been equipped with the reinforced collared bushings (1) at the plant.
With immediate effect the parts service only makes available the reinforced collared bushings (1), in the case of repair the vehicles up to VIN 946 are therefore also converted to reinforced collared bushings (1).

With immediate effect the top and bottom supporting ball joint (2) are assembled on all vehicles the stage instead of one-stage till now, irrespective of the collared bushing version fitted in each case.
