1 Starting from the heater (3), route the fuel line (2) up into the engine compartment, along the heater wiring harness (1) and fasten in place using cable ties.

2 Route fuel line (2) and metering pump wiring harness (4) along the vehicle's cable set onto the longitudinal member towards the bulkhead. Continue along the vehicle's fuel line to the underbody.

3 Preassemble metering pump (5) with rubber-bonded metal buffer (7), retaining clamp lined with rubber (8), angle bracket (9) and nuts (10).
4 Remove bolt (11) of hand brake cable bracket (12).
5 Fasten angle bracket (9) with metering pump (5) and hand brake cable bracket (12) to vehicle's bolt (11).

6 Route fuel line (2) and metering pump wiring harness (4) along the vehicle's fuel line onto the underbody to the installation location of the metering pump (5).
7 Route fuel line (2) to metering pump (5), cut off excess fuel line and connect using hose clamps dia. 10 mm to thrust side (arrow) of metering pump (5).
8 Route metering pump wiring harness (4) to metering pump (5) and cut off excess metering pump wiring harness (4).
9 Fasten 2-pin connector (6) using single-wire seals onto metering pump wiring harness (4) and connect 2-pin connector (6) to metering pump (5).
10 Fasten fuel line (2) and metering pump wiring harness (4) using cable ties.

11 Connect fuel line (14) using hose piece (15) and hose clamps (16) onto tank bleeder (13).
On vehicles as of vehicle identification end no. 128918, fuel line (14) is connected while fuel tank is removed.
12 Route fuel line (14) along the fuel lines to metering pump (5).
On vehicles as of vehicle identification end no. 128918, fuel line (14) is not routed along fuel lines to metering pump (5) until after completing installation of fuel tank.
13 Connect fuel line (14) using hose piece (17) and hose clamps to metering pump (5).
