Remove/install

Move left or right front seat all the way forward

Set backrest of left or right front seat upright

3

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m)

Disconnect battery ground line

Remove back shell from left or right backrest

Remove expansion rivet (1)

Pull out check strap (2) downward

Detach backrest upholstery (3)

Release and disconnect electrical connector (4) of left sidebag unit (8) or right sidebag unit (8)

Drill out rivet (5)

 Installation: The ground line (6) must be riveted between the rivet (5) and bracket.

Pull left sidebag unit (8) or right sidebag unit (8) downwards

Pull left sidebag unit (8) or right sidebag unit (8) upwards

Remove check strap (2) from left sidebag unit (8) or right sidebag unit (8)

14

Install in the reverse order



Check

15

Check and erase vehicle fault memory using the diagnostic system

When replacing the left or right sidebag unit (8).


