Removal, installation

Remove front seat

Disconnect electrical leads and pneumatic lines below seat

Remove cover (1)

Two screws in lower area of cover

Unhook backrest cover from
backrest frame

Unhook control cable (2) from backrest release motor (M27m8)

Actuate backrest release lever

Unscrew screws (3)

Expose electrical lead (4) to left front
ESA control module (with memory) (N32/1) or right front ESA control module
(with memory) (N32/2)

Disconnect connector (5)

from left front ESA control module
(with memory) (N32/1) or right front

ESA control module (with memory) (N32/2) and open, remove pins

Reinstall in opposite order

Check for proper function
