Remove/install

Remove left or right front seat (1)

Place front seat (1) to the rear on the front seat backrest

When putting down use a suitable protective surface, as otherwise the paint on the backrest frame may be damaged.

Remove seat fore/aft adjustment drive shaft protection

Remove drive shaft (2) from left front seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M27/1) or from right front seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M28/1)

Care must be taken to ensure that when the drive shaft (2) has been removed, the four-point drive for the two transmission stages is not rotated, as otherwise the seat rails will not be positioned parallel to each other.
If however, a rotation was made, then prior to installation of the drive shaft (2) the two seat rails must be restored to their correct level position.

Use a clamping device for the exact setting of the level position of the two seat rails.

On the engine side, the drive shaft (2) is seated in the four-point drive in such a way that free movement is ensured.

Installation: Carefully insert drive shaft (2) into the four-point drive. Check that the drive shaft (2) is routed straight, as otherwise noise may be generated.

Remove cable ties (3) and push bracket (4) with driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1) or with passenger-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/2) to one side

Installation: Replace cable ties (3).

Detach electrical connector (5) on left front seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M27/1) or on right front seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M28/1)

Undo bolts (6) and remove left front seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M27/1) or right front seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M28/1)

Install in the reverse order

Remove/install seat adjustment drive motor (forward/back)
