Modification of repair method

Steps 3 to 13

	Remove
Danger!	Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel.	No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.	AS47.00-Z-0001-01A
1	Remove fuel filler flap CL element		AR80.20-P-2300V
2	Remove fuel filler flap		AR88.60-P-6023V
3	Remove spreading clip (2) from hinge (3)
4	Punch through recesses (4) with suitable screwdriver and break off catch hooks (6, 7) with screwdriver or bend inward	 The broken-off catch hooks (6, 7) can fall into the rear fender and be very difficult to remove. If catch hooks (6, 7) remain in rear fender, they can cause noise.
5	Release filler cap (11) and remove
6	Pull fuel tank filler neck (8) toward rear, remove tank recess (1) from rear fender toward rear and upward	 Access to fuel tank filler neck (8) through trunk.
7	Remove drain hose (9) from tank recess (1)
	Install
8	Attach drain hose (9) to tank recess (1)	 Use new tank recess (1).
9	Apply sliding compound to gasket (10) for tank recess (1)	Antifriction agent	*BR00.45-Z-1010-06A
10	Position tank recess (1) on fuel tank filler neck (8)	 Carefully install gasket (10) over fuel tank filler neck (8) to prevent gasket (10) from tearing.
11	Pull fuel tank filler neck (8) toward rear and insert tank recess (1) into rear fender. First arrest catch hook (5), then catch hook (6) and, finally, catch hook (7) on rear fender	 Access to fuel tank filler neck (8) through trunk. The catch hooks (5, 6, 7) must arrest audibly.
12	Close fuel tank filler neck (8) with filer cap (11)
13	Check seat of tank recess (1) by moving hinge (3) up and down	 The tank recess (1) must be installed in the rear fender, play-free.
14	Attach check strap (12) with spreading clip (2) to hinge (3)	 Replace damaged spreader clip (3).
15	Install fuel filler flap		AR88.60-P-6023V
16	Install CL element for fuel filler flap		AR80.20-P-2300V
