Open engine hood (1) and raise to vertical position

Installation: Before closing the engine hood check for proper function:
When the engine hood is open lock engine hood locks with screwdriver and then unlock engine hood locks with engine hood release lever.

Open connector (2)

Unhook nipple for rear release cable control (3) from coupling (2)

Actuate the engine hood release lever (5) and unhook the nipple for the rear release control cable (6) from the engine hood release lever (5)

Lower the cover under the instrument panel and thread the rear release control cable (4) through the engine hood release lever (5)

Lower the cover under the instrument panel only far enough to enable the rear release control cable (4) to be grasped and threaded through the engine hood release lever (5). The electrical connectors need not be detached.

Pull rear release control cable (4) on engine side through the firewall

Ensure that the rear release control cable is installed correctly.

Installation: Apply liquid lubricant onto rubber grommet (7) and pull the rear release control cable (4) into the vehicle interior.

Ensure that rubber grommet (7) is seated correctly in the firewall!

Unhook nipple for rear release control cable (3)

Remove engine hood lock (10)

Right and left sides of vehicle.

Unscrew bolts (9) on radiator crossmember far enough to free the passage for the front release cable in the radiator crossmember

Pull front release control cable (8) and coupling (2) to rear (arrow B) out of the radiator crossmember and remove

Install in the reverse order

Perform a function test
