Unscrew tie-down eye (2)

Remove floor covering (3) from cover panel (4)

 The floor covering (3) is bonded to the cover panel (4). When removing the side wall trim in the rear area, lift somewhat.

 Installation: Align floor covering (3) before gluing in.

Remove cover panel (4)

 Remove two screws.

Disconnect connector of the electric lines (5) of the bumper in the interior

For vehicles without ultrasonic reversing aid.

Disconnect ultrasonic reversing aid connector (X26/26) from ultrasonic reversing aid control unit (N62)

For vehicles with code (J44) ultrasonic reversing aid.

Disconnect threaded connection (6) from antenna cable

Pull electric line and antenna cable through the body toward the outside

 Installation: Replace damaged, brittle rubber grommets (7). Wet rubber grommets (7) with lubricant.

Remove splash guard (8)

 On both sides.

Unscrew bumper corners (9) from the fender flares

 Remove screw on both sides (10).

Unscrew bumper corners (9) from the strut (11)

 On both sides.

Disconnect connector (12) from reversing lamp (E7)

Disconnect connector from rear fog lamp (E3/1)

Remove left (E19/1) and right (E19/2) license plate lamp

 Remove electric cable from the bumper.

Remove screws (13) from bumper holder

 Use aid of helper.
Remove four screws both on the right and left.
In model 463.237, the inner bumper holders are attached to the rear underride guard.

Remove bumper

Install in the reverse order
