2.2 | Loosen left and right BRABUS side skirts in rear area until bolt (6) is accessible | On model 454.034 or on vehicles with code (E71) BRABUS side skirts | |
Danger! | Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. | Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. | |
3 | Raise vehicle | ||
4 | Unclip retaining clamp (3) from left and right reflector (2) with suitable screwdriver | ||
5 | Remove left and right reflector (2) from outside | ||
6 | Unscrew bolt (8) behind left and right reflectors (2) | ||
7 | Remove expansion clips (4, 7) on left and right from CBS rear end (1) | On model 454.034 or on vehicles with code (E71) BRABUS side skirts, expansion clips (4) eliminated. | |
Installation: Replace damaged expansion clips (4, 7) | |||
8 | Unscrew bolt (6) from CBS rear end (1) on left and right | ||
9 | Unclip CBS rear end (1) on left and right in marked areas (arrows) with snap-release tool | Carefully unclip CBS rear end (1) to prevent damage from breakage or scratching. | |

10 | Lower vehicle | ||
11 | Open rear-end door | ||
12 | Loosen edge guard (5) in area of CBS rear end (1) | Installation: Ensure that edge guard (5) is seated properly. | |
13 | Remove expansion clips (arrows A) | Installation: Replace damaged expansion clips (arrows A). | |
14 | Guide wiring harnesses for left license plate lamp and right license plate lamp through opening in CBS rear end (1) | ||
15 | Remove CBS rear end (1) and lay down on suitable subsurface | Carefully remove CBS rear end (1) to prevent damage from breakage or scratching | |
Lightly pull CBS rear end (1) toward outside in areas of rear rocker panels. Aid of helper required | |||
16 | Install in the reverse order |
