1 | Set air conditioning to defrosting. | To enable the right and left air pipes in the footwell to be removed. | |
2 | Remove AC housing | ||
3 | Detach left air pipe (1) and right air pipe (2) from AC housing and place to one side | ||
4 | Remove nuts (3) and nut (4) and remove instrument panel carrier (5) | ||
5 | Disconnect electrical connector from fresh air/air recirculation flaps actuator motor (M2/5), right defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/9), right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11), diverter flap actuator motor (M16/27), and left defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/8) | ||
6 | Disconnect electrical connector from left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10), right blending air flap actuator motor (M2/7), rear shutoff flap actuator motor (M2/12), and left blending air flap actuator motor (M2/6) | ||
7 | Separate electrical connector (6) on blower motor | ||
8 | Disconnect electrical connector (7) from dew point sensor | ||
9 | Detach plug (8) from AC housing front section (9) | ||
10.1 | Detach electrical connector from PTC heater booster | Only on vehicles with engine 642.950 | |
11 | Separate tie straps (10, 11, 12) and remove entire wiring harness from AC housing | Wiring harness must be removed from the clips and guides at the AC housing. | |
12 | Remove bolts (13) and remove right footwell air pipe (14) from AC housing | ||
13 | Remove bolts (15) and remove left footwell air pipe (16) from AC housing | ||
14 | Remove sealing (17) and remove bolts (18) | ||
15 | Unclip bracket (19) to the side (arrows A) and remove downwards | ||
16 | Remove bolts (20) and remove heat exchanger (21) to the side and out of AC housing front section (9) | ||
17 | Remove bolts (22) and remove AC housing front section (9) toward the front | ||
18 | Open filter flap (23) and remove the filters | ||
19 | Remove bolts (24) | ||
20 | Unclip clips (arrows B) and remove fresh air and air recirculation top section (25) | ||
21 | Remove bolts (26) | ||
22 | Unclip plastic clip (27) and remove fresh air and air recirculation bottom section (28) | Installation: Clip fresh air and air recirculation bottom section (28) into catch hooks (35) and clip in plastic clip (27). | |
23 | Remove bolts (29) | ||
24 | Unclip metal clips (arrows C) and plastic clips (30, 31) and remove evaporator blower box top section (32) toward top from evaporator blower box bottom section (33) | ||
25 | Remove evaporator (34) from evaporator blower box bottom section (33) | ||
26 | Install in the reverse order |
