Remove/install

Release stowage box and move backwards until the bolts (1) are accessible

The electrical connectors under the floor panel do not have to be disconnected.

Unscrew bolts (1) and remove air duct bracket (2)

Remove bottom section of dashboard on driver's side

Detach left rear air duct (3) and right rear air duct (4) from rear air duct connection (5)

Remove sound deadening mat (6) and pull off adhesive pad (7)

Detach rear air duct connection (5) from A/C housing (8)

Release electrical connectors (9) from bracket (10) and remove

Disconnect electrical connection (11)

Release and remove the remaining plugs of the electrical connector (11) from the bracket (10)

Guide out the rear air duct connection (5) between the electrical and optical wiring harnesses

Ensure that the electrical and optical wiring harnesses are correctly routed, otherwise the electrical and optical wiring harnesses may be damaged by kinking.

Disconnect electrical connector (12)

Remove cover below instrument panel on right

Unscrew bolts (13) and remove right rear blending air flap actuator motor (M16/31) from A/C housing (8)

The right front bolt (13) is easier to access from the right footwell by folding down the right front floor covering (14).

Installation: Check condition of adjusting mechanism. If damaged, remove the corresponding part from the kinematics parts kit.
When replacing the actuator motorof the right rear blending air flap (M16/31), the position of the drive axle of the right rear blending air flap must match the position of the actuator drive of the right rear blending air flap actuator motor (M16/31).
