Remove AAC control and operating unit and place to one side with electrical connectors still connected

On vehicles with code (580) Automatic air conditioning

Remove glove compartment

Fold over sound deadening mat (2) under the crossmember of the instrument panel (7) away to the rear and secure underneath the instrument panel (7) so that the bolt (4) in the cover (5) is accessible

Carefully fold over sound deadening mat (2) under the crossmember of the instrument panel (7) to the rear to avoid tearing the sound deadening mat (2).

Unscrew bolt (4) from cover (5)

Fold open cover (5) on the side until the operating lever for the defroster flaps on the air distributor housing (3) is accessible

Detach cable (1) from the operating lever for the defroster flaps on the air distributor housing (3)

Unlock latching hook (arrows) at the cable (1) using a suitable screwdriver and pull cable (1) down and out of the recess on the air distributor housing (3)

Installation: Make sure that seating of the latching hook (arrows) at the cable (1) in the recess on the air distributor housing (3) is correct.

Remove cable (1) to the rear between the heater or A/C housing (6) and the instrument panel (7)

Installation: Make sure that routing of the cable (1) between the heater or A/C housing (6) and the instrument panel (7) is correct.

Install in the reverse order
