Removing and installing washer fluid reservoir of windshield washer system

Remove/Install

Open engine hood and move to upright position

Remove spreading clip (2).

Pull filler neck (3) up and out of washer fluid reservoir (1).

 Installation: Replace seal of filler neck (3) on washer fluid reservoir (1).

Dismount right front wheel



Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary

Remove rear fender liner in front fender

Unplug electrical connector (4) from windshield washer fluid level indicator switch (S42)

Unclip one side of the bracket (5) for the window washer fluid pump (M5/1) from the washer fluid reservoir (1)

Unclip washer fluid hose (6) from washer fluid reservoir (1)

Unclip windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) from washer fluid reservoir (1) using mounting wedge and put aside

 Collect washer fluid which flows out.



 Installation: Install a new gasket for the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) in the windshield washer fluid reservoir (1).

Unscrew nuts (7)

Remove washer fluid reservoir (1) far enough out of front fender to make cover (9) accessible

In vehicles with code (875) heated windshield washer system

 Installation: Ensure that mounting journals (8) are correctly seated in the body.

Unclip cover (9) from washer fluid reservoir (1) using mounting wedge

In vehicles with code (875) heated windshield washer system



 Installation: Replace seal of cover (9).

Remove washer fluid reservoir (1) out of front fender

 Installation: Ensure that mounting journals (8) are correctly seated in the body.

Install in the reverse order

Fill washer fluid reservoir (1)



Windshield washer system - inspect fluid level, adjust to correct level
