Warning

Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism.

When working on the windshield wiper mechanism, always switch off the ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m).

Switch off wiper system, switch off ignition and remove ignition key

When doing so, the doors and the hood must be closed in order for the windshield wipers to move to the rest position. With the ignition switched on, the rain sensor on the windshield can cause the wiper system to switch on automatically.
