Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. Ensure that the work area is adequately ventilated.

Use hot knife to cut open housing (1.1) on front lamp unit (1) within the groove (arrow A)

If the cap (1.2) is not fitted.



Cut open the housing (1.1) so that the web (arrow B) is not damaged.
Leaks can occur otherwise.


Carefully cut open the housing (1.1).
Otherwise, component parts in the front lamp unit (1) may be damaged.

 The web (arrow B) on housing (1.1) serves as the sealing surface for the cap (1.2).

Unscrew bolts (2) and remove cap (1.2)

If the cap (1.2) is fitted.

Deburr cut surface on front lamp unit (1)

If necessary, after cutting open housing (1.1).


Make sure there are no plastic cuttings in the front lamp unit (1).
Soiling in the front lamp unit (1) may cause malfunctions.

Remove screws/bolts (5)

Remove fan (4) far enough from front lamp unit (1) to gain access to the electrical connector (3)

Disconnect electrical connector (3) and remove fan (4)



Install

Connect electrical connector (3) to fan (4)

Insert fan (4) into front lamp unit (1)

 The installation position of the fan (4) is defined by the hole pattern on the fan support (4).

Screw bolts (5) tight

Insert seal (1.3) with inscription facing upwards into the cap (1.2)

For first time installation of cap (1.2).

 Note marking (arrow C) on cap (1.2):
"L" for left front lamp unit (1), "R" for right front lamp unit (1).

Position cap (1.2) on front lamp unit (1) and tighten bolts (2)

Install front lamp unit (1)
