Dimension a Lock switch wiring harness, 150 mm

1 Plastic wedge

S86/1, S87/1 Front door lock switches

S86/1x1, S87/1x1 Connectors, front door lock switches

Replacing lock switch

Complete repair kit available
(Lock switch with plug, sockets, connector housing, retaining clips)

Removal

Disconnect ground lead from battery

Remove door liners on front doors

Pull off door foil in area of door lock

Disconnect lock switch S86/1 or S87/1 from door lock

For this purpose press catch lug (arrow) on switch housing behind electric lead for lock switch outward with plastic wedge

Cut off lock switch wiring harness to dimension "a" (150 mm)

Installation

Solder sockets onto wiring harness and insert into connector housing

Observe socket assignment

Insert clip (2) into opening present on inner door panel

Plug lock switch S86/1, S87/1 on to door lock

Connect connector S86/1x1 or S87/1x1 and insert in clip (2)

Reconnect ground lead to battery

Check central locking for proper function
