Remove/install

Open liftgate

Fold up retaining clip (2)

Installation: Retaining clip (2) must engage securely on both sides.

Unscrew bolts (3) on left and right of retaining clip (2)

Make sure that nuts (4) are not pushed out of retaining clip (2) housing.

Relax tension of spring (5) by slackening bolt (6)

Remove circlip (7)

Pull out lock pins (1)

Installation: Make sure that spring (5) and clamping plate (8) are positioned correctly.

If complaint present

Correct position of spring (5) and clamping plate (8) with the aid of bolt (6)

Install in the reverse order

Check

Check that retaining clip (2) is correctly engaged
