Preparation

1

Prepare repair kit according to manufacturer's specifications

 Solely use repair kit assigned in EPC to folding roof cassette (1).

 Adapter

Remove

Lower side window of driver's door


Side window of driver's door must remain lowered during curing time.
Folding roof cassette (1) can otherwise be pressed outward after installation by the air when the doors are closed.

Remove headliner

Remove electrical wiring harness of folding roof cassette (1) and guide out of repair area

Determine gap dimensions (A, B, C) with feeler gauge and note down

Mask off rear roof frame on left and right in area of folding roof cassette (1) with masking tape (2)

Mask off windshield in area of folding roof cassette (1) with masking tape (2)

 Warning

Risk of injury from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows

Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.

Cut out and remove folding roof cassette (1) with aid of a helper

Install

Replace rubber spacers (3) on folding roof cassette (1)

 Rubber spacer disks (3) must basically be replaced.

Prepare folding roof cassette (1) for installation

Do not touch bonding surfaces with bare fingers and they should be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other adhesive components or dirt residues.
Otherwise the strength of the glued connections is impaired.


Observe supplier information regarding flash-off time.
Otherwise the adhesive effect of the adhesive material will be impaired.

Prepare body flange for installation of folding roof cassette (1)

Remove cup suction tool

Raise side window of driver's door



Clean

Remove all masking tapes (2) and adhesive strips

Clean area to be repaired
