Remove/install front panoramic roof roller sun blind

Remove

 Danger!

Risk of injury caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof.

When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts.

Open glass roof, retract roller sun blind (1)

 See Operator's Manual

Remove headliner

Slightly slide roller sun blind (1) to right against spring tension (arrow A) and hold while removing from bearing (6) downward (arrow B)

 Do not lower roller sun blind too far (direction of arrow B) to prevent the roller sun blind shaft arrest (5) from breaking off!

 Continuously hold roller sun blind (1) against spring tension.

Carefully allow roller sun blind (1) to slightly rebound to left (arrow C) until fuse link (2) can be moved completely through core hole in roller sun blind and through roller sun blind shaft (3).

 The fuse link (2) should connect the roller sun blind shaft (3) to the core in the roller sun blind to hold the spring tension.If the original fuse link is not available, use paper clip bent open.

Pull roller sun blind (1) out of arresting bracket (4) to left and allow to hang down in vehicle

 Do not damage roller sun blind at sharp-edged components.

Remove terminal strip (9) on both sides of vehicle from corresponding roller sun blind coupling (7)

 Hold down roller sun blind coupling lock (8) on both sides of vehicle (arrow D) and remove terminal strip (9) by carefully turning roller sun blind coupling.

Remove roller sun blind (1) and wind up



Install



Roller sun blind is wound up for installation and secured with fuse link.

Insert roller sun blind (1) with roller sun blind shaft arrest (5) into arresting bearing (4) (arrow E) and pull out fuse link (2), then insert roller sun blind into bearing (6).

 Do not pull roller sun blind shaft arrest (5) out of arresting bearing (4) when pulling out fuse link (2) or thereafter.Otherwise, the spring tension will be lost!

 Do not cant roller sun blind (1) during installation, otherwise the roller sun blind shaft arrest (5) can break off!

Slightly pull out roller sun blind (1) and position terminal strip (9) on both sides of vehicle at corresponding roller sun blind coupling (7)

Swing open terminal strip (9) on both sides of vehicle on corresponding roller sun blind coupling (7), then turn until it arrests

 The terminal strip (9) should arrest audibly.

Install headliner
