Remove/install inside door opener on rear-end door

Remove

Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from EIS [EZS] control unit

 On vehicles with Keyless Go, code 889: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it in a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).

Open tailgate, remove liner from rear-end door

Drill dia. 5 mm rivets, remove inside door opener (4) from tailgate

Rechargeable drill / screwdriver

Unclip cable (3) from inside door opener (4), unhook ball head (2)

Remove remaining rivet material that has fallen into the door skin when drilling out the rivets (1)

 Remaining rivet material must be completely removed, otherwise this can cause corrosion damage.

Install

Hook in ball head (2), clip cable (3) into inside door opener (4)

Rivet inside door opener (4) to tailgate

 Use dia. 5 mm x 20 mm aluminum rivets with wide mushroom head and steel drift

 Hand riveter

Install liner on rear-end door, close tailgate
