Risk of injury caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof.

When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts.

Check

Check distance between rear flap (4) and hinge (2)

 If the distance between the rear flap (4) and the hinge (2) is greater than 1 mm, glue on an additional EPDM strip (9) onto the screw side of the glass.

Remove plastic caps (1)

Remove screws (3)

 Installation: Observe tightening torque



Open tailgate (4)

Remove lock tab (5), damper (6) from tailgate (4) on top right and left.

Unhook damper (6) from tailgate (4) on upper right and left.

 Pivot damper (6) on right and left next to tailgate seal

Unscrew bolts (7).

 Secure tailgate (4) against falling down

Unscrew bolts (8).

 Installation: Observe tightening torque



Lay tailgate (4) onto tailgate seal

Remove hinge (2)

Glue on EPDM strips (9)

 Figure A: Glue EPDM strips (9) to the side of the hinge (2) screwed to the glass.

Install in the reverse order

Check gaps on tailgate (4), adjust if necessary.
