Remove

Remove outer paneling from liftgate

Lower headliner

Remove paneling in rear

Remove lock striker (9)

Remove gas-filled strut from liftgate

 Helper required for holding tailgate (10).

Adjust

Loosen bolts (1) on hinges (2)

 It should still be possible to move the liftgate (10).

Align liftgate (10) and tighten bolts (1)

 Screw/bolt/nut, liftgate hinge to liftgate

Loosen nuts (6) on hinges (2)

 It should still be possible to move the liftgate (10).

Align liftgate (10) and tighten nuts (6)

Check

Check whether liftgate (10) can be closed easily and the gap dimensions are within the tolerance range

 If necessary, repeat adjustment.

Install

Install lock striker (9) and screw in bolts (8) to stop

Adjust

Adjust transition between liftgate (10) and edges of the taillamp covers and C-pillars by moving lock striker (9)

 The transition must be flush.



Install

14

Tighten bolts (8) for striker eye (9)

 Screw/bolt, lock striker for liftgate to rear center section

Install paneling in rear

Install both gas-filled struts on liftgate (10)

AR72.20-P-2832SR

 Helper required for holding tailgate (10).

Repair paint on bolts (1), nuts (6) and hinges (2)

Install headliner

Install outer paneling on liftgate
