Danger!

Injury hazard! Gas pressure struts are under high pressure and can pinch and crush body parts during work.

Remove and install gas pressure struts only in relaxed position and on components properly secured.

Secure tailgate (3) with brace

tailgate should be opened completely.

Lift retainer (2) and remove gas pressure strut (1) from tailgate (3)

Do not remove retainer, otherwise tension is lost.
Installation: Clip gas pressure strut into ball head (arrow) with retainer installed.

Lift retainer (2) and remove gas pressure strut (1) from D-pillar

Do not remove retainer, otherwise tension is lost.
Installation: Clip gas pressure strut into ball head (arrow) with retainer installed.

When replacing gas pressure strut

Dispose of gas pressure strut (old part)
