Remove paneling (20)

Remove license plate illumination

Separate connector (18), remove license plate illumination plug (19).

Pull out switch (17) and remove connector

Assembly: Check switch.

Drive out dowel pin (12) and remove locking rod handle (11)

Assembly: Replace roll pin.

Remove door catch (23)

Installation: With 180° rear doors.

Check adjustment of door catch in relation to counterpart.

Observe installation position of tapping plate (28).

Remove hinge (6)

For top hinge.

Remove closing wedge (4)

Drill rivet (22) out of bottom closing wedge (21) and remove closing wedge

Drill bit diameter 4.8 mm.

Remove rear door seal (8)

Assembly: Check sealing. First position seal flush at top and bottom and then install toward center.

Unscrew Phillips screw (9) for rod type lock

Remove door lock (10)

Secure locking bar at the top using a suitable pair of vise grip pliers.

Assembly: The bolts must engage in the holes (arrows) of the locking bars (2, 13).

To prevent the locking bars from rattling on the rod-type lock, an O-ring (6 mm dia.) can be pressed onto the bolts of the rod-type lock.

Remove clip (15)

Pull out locking rod guides (1, 16, 25) and remove locking rods (2, 13)

Observe installation position of locking rod guide (25).

Assemble in the reverse order
